About Us

Hi! I’m Jamie, boy mom and shopaholic!

I have two toddler boys, Ryder + Levi,  who are the inspiration behind Little Locals. We always loved finding cool new outfits and accessories for them but could only do so through online shops, so we wanted to create a way to bring all of those awesome brands to one store, where you can enjoy seeing everything in person. Since we live in a coastal town that welcomes many tourists throughout the year, we knew we also needed to get online so our customers could continue shopping with us once they went back home. 

I graduated with a degree in Textiles for Brand Management and Marketing but fell out of touch with it after so many years of working retail leading me to burn out before I really got started. I completely switched paths and became an elementary teacher for about nine years. After having my first son, Ryder, I was given the opportunity to switch the elementary Art classroom where I got to have a little creative outlet, but it just never seemed like quite the right fit. After having my second son, Levi, going back to the classroom just didn’t feel right anymore. I wanted an opportunity that gave me more time with my family, something more focused around them. 

My mom, Mama Deb, had an amazing local gift shop while I was in college, and I always loved going to market with her and helping her pick things out for the store. Through that experience and my many years of working in retail stores, I loved interacting with customers, getting to know them and what they were looking for and helping them find the perfect items. My mom and I have always shared our values of excellent customer service. We want each person walking into the store to feel the excitement we feel when picking out our products and keep them wanting to come back and shop with us again!
